Recently decided to make the move to an x7 from the battered x8. I was thinking of a transplant of the 7m and all my manual gear straight into the x7.
Ive done some searching, found a decent sized thread on this exact topic but didn't really learn anything new besides the fact it was a huge headache for the guy.
I'm going to be using the 7m harness and ecu, so was just wondering what complications I'll be running in to and how to address them.

I'm still on my p's (Australians know what's up)  so turbo is a no go for another year and a bit.

Cheers for your help in advance

not helpful at all but, in AUS you aren't aloud to drive a turbo car with a learners?!?!?!?! (assuming that p's is some sort of learners or novice license)

Yep!  You have a year of supervised driving on your L's (driving whatever car) ,  then a year of Red Provisionals and then 2 years of green Provisionals..  Through this time you can't drive any sort of terb/v8/supercharged or anything considered high performance..

Who are they to dictate what you drive.... what if you wanted your first car to be a mk3 turbo supra and you found one, (Probably the worst example ever but its the first thing that came to mind). Can they really be like, nah man.. sorry, cant drive that. Go get yourself a civic. Oh wait, nope, cant drive that either... Its an SI, no vtec aloud. Thats really frustrating.

I agree, it's a rubbish rule..
Fortunately (for those who like them) vtec is allowed.. But who wants vtec psssh

Not even allowed to drive those big Mazda family 4wds because they're turbo haha

Ah well not long now I guess
