Australian Style Grill and Clear Corners
I'm looking for the Australian style grill and clear corners. It doesn't necessarily have to be from Aus, if other markets got the same equipment. Here's an example:
And of course, if you can give me a magical price on the front and rear bumpers too... that'd be awesome, but the grill and clear corners are most important here. Shipping is to CT, USA, zip code 06437.
Thanks,
Mike

If only there was a way to get the australian part numbers I am sure we would be able to order them here state side. The fender mount mirrors and block off plates would be wicked also.

Those fender mount mirrors are NOT standard, the owners of those cars are copying JDM Bozo style.
AUS mirrors are exactly the same as US.
I can easily source you cheap bumpers and clear corners but shipping to the US will be INSANE

What kind of insanity are we talking about? I definitely want a grill at least.

Yeah I am also interested in this insanity lol. Maybe if we ship a few bumpers together we can lessen the shipping burden.

Re: Australian Style Grill and Clear Corners
OK, If I send you guys a container full of Cressida bumpers and clear indicators could you please fill it up with Chevy crate motors and post it back ? lol
They are kind of expensive here : Crate motors rip off
Aussie dollar is currently worth US95c
Before you all get too excited though, Adelaide, South Australia is 10,000 MILES from the US east coast.
Cargo ships do however go from Melbourne, Victoria [466 miles east of Adelaide] to Philadelphia.
How about you just cut down your bumpers with a Sawzall and I'll post you some clear indicators air mail ?
I could easily take photos and measurements of my bumpers/mounting hardware so you could see the differences and where to cut ?

Re: Australian Style Grill and Clear Corners
should be able to use the part numbers in the US. Up until january of last year you could walk into any Toyota dealership in the country and get fender mirrors for your 1st gen celica. I did, but they only sent the passenger side mirror as I ordered right as they were discontinuing them

Re: Australian Style Grill and Clear Corners
Is anyone in the US still able to do that recently? The local dealer here near New Haven said he can't. He said he can't get Lexus pats either, so maybe it's just their system?

Okay, just tried at the worst dealership in town and got a negative on the finding. I am hoping to make it by the good dealership in town and find out if they can get them. They are the ones who got me the fender mirror when everybody else couldn't find the part even listed.

Would love a pair of these. Especially new ones. Going to have to try next time I have the cash at my local dealer.

Re: Australian Style Grill and Clear Corners
Sterling will ship to the U.S. I mistakenly ordered a pair of clear corners for the later MX73 and found out after mounting them that the "chrome trim" is meant to match up with the 87-88 Cressida which has completely different headlights, grill, corner lights and trim above and below the headlights than the 85-86 U.S. Cressida. I almost decided to change everything over since they have new parts available from that site but changed my mind.
I was able to sell my lights on Ebay and get my $ back. Found the proper lights on Ebay Australia from:
http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/toyotaheritage?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
They only charged me $30 shipping. Less than 1/2 of what sterling did.
The early MX73 84-10/86 Australian front end lights and trim are completely different than the 85-86 U.S. Cressida.
I got an early grill from sterling like in the photo earlier in this post only to discover that there isn't enough room for it to fit between the headlamps or the trim underneath. The trim needs about 3/8" shaved off between them but they also have 2 rows of "chrome" at the top that doesn't match the single row on the aussie corner lights. The U.S. headlights slant inwards at the top, wider than the bottom.
There's no way that grill will fit with the U.S. headlights. I thought about searching the local junkyard for a pair the right size or converting to quad headlights but ended up ordering a pair of Aussie lights that sit flush with the corner lights rather than back like the US style.
Gary at The ebay store http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/toyotaheritage?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 or their new site.
http://toyotaheritage.com/ is looking for the proper trim to complete the conversion. the only stores I found over there that have the headlight trim won't respond to me about shipping to the US.
None of this has been cheap but just wanted you all to know what all is involved. I'm in deep at this point. Will post pics later when I'm not so tired.

Heff, please let us know what you find out. Thanks for sharing so far
Re: Australian Style Grill and Clear Corners
Waited months only to have Gary get later MX73 headlight trim which as far as I can see without having one in my hands is the same as the 87-88 US Cressida. Doubt if they will fit or work. If I come across some here I'll see if they will fit or can be modified or combined with the earlier US trim. I have the grill, headlamps and clear corners from Australia but you can only use the corner lights without the proper trim for under the headlights which looks great from the side but not from the front. So far I have had no luck finding a set so I'm going to try making my own somehow.
