AE86 Clutch Pedal Confirmation
Hey Guys,
Can any of you confirm whether or not an AE86 clutch pedal fits the X7? I'd greatly appreciate that, because I remember some people saying it's a direct, bolt-on fit on the old forum.
Mike

Re: AE86 Clutch Pedal Confirmation
If I remember correctly ae86 and mk2 supra (what i have and a mk3 brake petal) clutch petals are the same as the mx7's. Might have to oblong one bolt hole, wish tc was still around just as an archive, so much useful knowledge lost

Re: AE86 Clutch Pedal Confirmation
I have pedals on the mail. I'll check myself and report back. It is really sad that we lost that site. He needs to give that data away or sell it. It can't be lost!

Re: AE86 Clutch Pedal Confirmation
I'm gonna snag a supra MkIII clutch and break pedal around the 30th of the month. I'll keep ya posted on how they fit.
We really need a sub-forum/sticky that has a list of confirmed parts that are swapable witht he x7

I have a mk3 pedal installed in mine. It doesn't really fit quite right. It works now but you need to drill some holes and fabricate a bracket. Still need to chop my auto brake pedal

Re: AE86 Clutch Pedal Confirmation
MK2 clutch pedal works but you need to add one little tab... The back of the bracket attaches to the car via 2 bolts but the cressida pedal only has 1, and its about 1 cm back. I welded a small piece of steel with a hole to the bracket and it went in like a glove. The brake pedal from a mk3 supra bolts right on except the brake light switch is on the opposite side. what you need to do here is cut the little tab with rubber bumper off the mk3 pedal and the one from your brake pedal than weld the cressida tab on the supra pedal. Remember when you do this change the pedal only not the whole bracket. Not too sure about the AE86 pedal though... The supra parts worked grate for me.

Re: AE86 Clutch Pedal Confirmation
i used an AE86 clutch pedal when i did my 5 speed swap. If i remember correctly it bolted right up. May have used a grinder for fitment but thats about it.

Re: AE86 Clutch Pedal Confirmation
I checked my AE86 pedal in my car yesterday, and it is a DIRECT BOLT IN CLUTCH PEDAL! Just wanted to confirm that here as well for anyone searching. It sits nice next to the automatic brake pedal, so one might not even bother swapping for a manual brake pedal.

Re: AE86 Clutch Pedal Confirmation
lol i just took an angle grinder to my auto pedal and shaped it like a manual brake pedal. but if you do this, lay down some protective matting as to not ruin your carpet.
