Temperature gauge
Hey guys got myself into a weird situation. I just finished my r154 swap a week ago and notice my temp gauge rising when I drive. It fluctuates from the mid to almost hot back to mid and then to red. This happens when down shifting and accelerating out of turn, sometimes when I change gears. I know the auto trans did have two coolant lines. Is there a sensor that detects the temp from the trans? Or is it something serious. Radiator has no leaks, no smoke from the exhaust, etc.

Re: Temperature gauge
Check your grounds. I've seen cars that had temp gauges rise and fall with engine revs. Always ends up being a bad or missing ground

Re: Temperature gauge
No separate lines for temp from the transmission. The gauge sender is in the thermostat housing IIRC.

Figured it out. It was indeed bad grounding
