Spartan locking differential Empty Spartan locking differential

Has anyone used or considered a Spartan locking differential in their Cressida? It seems as though it would be a cheap option to get the benefits of a welded diff without the draw backs. This is the locker in question. Anyone know of any reason this wouldn't be a good idea?

Might not like high speed shock-loads from motorsports but that's just something I vaguely remember hearing years ago. That and lockers are much more noticeable clattering when slipping.

Thank you that makes sense! I can deal with the chattering since it can't be worse than driving around with a welded diff. If it's just going to explode the first time I punch it around a corner though I will avoid them.
