OEM Alarm Questions
I've never had a car with an alarm before, and I was wondering how it works. I left my hood closed but not fully latched last night and I'm guessing it may have popped up, triggering the alarm at 3AM. Not cool. I know I locked the doors using the electric switch in the car instead of using the key. How do you lock the car without arming the alarm?
Re: OEM Alarm Questions
Is there a way to disable the stock alarm? I've had my car get disabled because my alarm went off when I opened the door and I turned the key in the ignition and no crank no nothing...

There's a box under the dash labeled alarm. Unplug and throw away. Other than that I don't know much about the alarm.

Do they all have a factory alarm? I've had my whole dash apart and haven't seen anything like that haha.

My bad. We must have bypassed it when the uz swap was done. I just unplugged mine and no more alarm.

Unbolting the hood sensor from the right front strut tower/fender will prevent the alarm from arming (because it thinks the hood is open). Won't help if i'ts already triggered but it'll prevent it from triggering.

Cool thanks for that! Ill try it. My car has been disabled about twice and I had to disconnect the battery to be able to start it up again.

Re: OEM Alarm Questions
If unhooking the battery disabled the immobilizer, it wasn't the stock immobilizer that was stopping you from starting. it has non-volatile memory so you can't just unhook the battery and good to go. how crappy of an alarm would that be?
