Re: MX83, Southern Fried Texas style
I now make a oil pressure booster spring kit that will get you to 70-80 psi without shimming the stock spring.
The problem with shimming the spring 4-5mm is that it keeps the piston from fully opening the relief port, and can lead to pressure spikes, especially when cold.
My new kit just adds a booster spring that fits inside the stock spring, and accomplishes the same pressure increase, much like the kit that Nismo sells for the old Z-car & 510.

Re: MX83, Southern Fried Texas style
Small update.
Over the summer I came up with a way to add another needle bearing to the 7M.
This on the upper end of the oil pump shaft.
All the parts:
Hardened race installed on the shaft, with bearing on it:
Had to drill & tap the end of the shaft M5 for the retaining bolt:
Then drill a small oil passage through the length of the M5 flat head cap screw:
The hole:
This is not an easy job, drilling a grade 12.9 cap screw with a 1.5mm hole !
Everything installed:
Finished the machine work on the adaptor plate.
A lot of little things to allow assembly after it would be welded to the trans front case, and the have something for the coaxial throw out bearing to be mounted to.
Front side:
Back side:
And what it looks like stuck into a auto bell housing:
