hello all i recently picked up a 1985 cressida factory 5speed. body is real clean but burning oil so im looking to replace the engine. looking to make local friends who share my toyota passion

Yo, I'm in CT. Is it burning oil constantly or just start up? The 5m had a bad time with valve seals.

Deff on startup. not terrible constant but if i let her sit and idle for a bit a big cloud of smoke come out. the valve covers are deff in need of replacement.

The valve cover gaskets probably leak too but it's more the valve stem seals inside the head itself.

good to know. i figured i would be getting deep into this motor anyways if i dont go for a 7m boosted

I'll probably be pulling mine out this winter. Engine has 49k on it but I want to put my 2JZGE+T in it.

if i had one i would too haha
