MX73 Turn signal

I have been enjoying my '86 Cressida for the past few months. Only two things really bother me about it so far. One is the busted taillamp, which still works, so I haven't seriously pursued fixing it yet.

The other is the front turn signals. I have no idea why the corner markers next to the headlights aren't the signals. I also do not know if they are supposed to be so. Has anyone here rewired the lights so that the markers blink, and that the low bumper lights can be replaced with foglamps or horns? If you have, how did you manage?

I've done it one my old MX73. Not that hard. Just have to buy 93 Camry tail light sockets, wire some stuff up, and cut the back side of the corner lamp to make the socket/bulb fit. Takes like an hour at most.
