MK3 Rear Struts & Lowering Springs
Here is the information that I used to lower and improve the ride of my Cressida without spending Crazy money for coilovers that don't last.
The following may only apply to KYB shocks. No promises about other brands:
KYB part number for the supra struts:
KYB GR2's # 341-070
The spring seat on the supra strut is way too big for the mx83 spring.
Once you remove the OEM KYB Struts from Cressida You need to take the Bump Stop,
Then use a rubber mallet to tap off the Spring Seat of the Strut.
Do the same thing for the new KYB Supra strut you purchased.
Then mount the Cressida Spring Seats onto the New Supra Struts.
Use Cressida Bump Stop And Top Mount.
Use a round file to make the strut fit inside the cressida top mount.
The picture shows the cressida strut on the left and the supra one on the right.
The supra one is shorter since the strut has about 20mm less travel.
It doesn't affect the ride height just the preload on the spring.
Its actually better for running lowered springs etc.
Here is how you change the spring seat from the big supra one to the smaller cressida one.
Strut ends are little Different. Supra Left, Cressida Right
No more bottoming when you come down after a speed bump.
And a lot better ride.

Re: MK3 Rear Struts & Lowering Springs
Would you be able to take a tokico blue or an agx shock and do this with it? Or are the spring seats non removable.

This should be stickied.
I rode on Supra rears for several years, and they worked very well.
